Consignor Agreement

Consignment Terms of Agreement

Consignor Items

  • Items are consigned for 60 days. Purses and luxury items (black-tagged items) are consigned for 90 days. Consignors are asked to leave items on the sales floor for the full applicable consignment period, as costs are incurred to prepare, market, and merchandise items for sale.
  • Items removed before 55 or 85 days will be subject to a 25% fee based on the original ticket price plus any applicable processing or administrative fees attributed to the consignor account.
  • The consignment period begins once each item is priced and entered into the Simple Consign system, not on the date the consignor’s items are selected or dropped off.
  • After an item sells, the consignor will receive 40%, 50%, 60%, or 70% of the selling price, based on the applicable pricing tier.
The selling price does not include sales tax or buyer fees. See the Buyer’s Fee Addendum for additional details at intake in-store.
  • Selective Seconds reserves the right to decline or donate items after acceptance if undisclosed issues are later identified, including but not limited to stains, odors, tears, or missing components that do not meet our standards for resale.
  • Items may be marked down, discounted, or included in coupons or special promotions as necessary in an effort to sell within the consignment period. Most items are typically marked down after 30 days to encourage sale.
  • Items with a resale value under $5 will not be consigned; instead, a buy-out credit will be applied to the consignor’s account.
  • Unsold items with an initial price under $35 are not eligible for return, with the exception of luxury items (black-tagged items). All items are marketed through our brick-and-mortar location in Greenwood, Indiana, pop-up events, Facebook Live shows, or our website across multiple sales channels (including Facebook, Instagram, Shop, and Google). After utilizing price reductions, promotions, and advertising, these items are considered to have exhausted reasonable selling efforts and are found to have insufficient value to continue storing or processing at the conclusion of the consignment period.
  • Return-eligible items must be picked up within one week of the scheduled pickup date. Items not collected within this timeframe may be sold at final clearance pricing and/or donated to charity, at Selective Seconds’ discretion.
  • Luxury items that remain unsold after the 90-day consignment period are eligible for return; however, if sold after the consignment period, the consignor payout will be manually calculated and issued by Selective Seconds staff and will be reduced by 10% for each full month the item remains in store beyond the consignment period, beginning with a 10% reduction in the first month after the conversion is recorded in the Simple Consign system, with a minimum payout of 40% of the final selling price. For example, an item originally eligible for a 60% payout that sells one month after the consignment period would pay out at 50%.

Payout Terms

  • Accounts with Simple ACH (Direct Deposit) enabled, marked for payout, and with a balance over $100 are paid automatically during the first week of each month.
  • Accounts without Simple ACH enabled, not marked for payout, or with balances under $100 will not be paid automatically at the beginning of each month. It is the consignor’s responsibility to contact Selective Seconds to request payout for balances under $100.
  • Consignors may request payout or pickup of available balances at any time during operating hours. Please see our payout request form on our website (payout-request link).
  • Simple ACH (Direct Deposit) payouts:
    • $2.50 processing fee
    • Minimum payout: $5.01; maximum payout: $10,000
    • See SimpleACH details and FAQ found at selectiveseconds.com
  • If a paper check is requested, a $5 check processing fee applies for any balance. The check can be mailed at your request.
  • Outstanding checks not picked up within one year will be converted to in-store credit with no cash value.
  • Balances under $100 may be paid in cash in store with a presented consignor id.
  • If consignor credit is used for a purchase, Selective Seconds will add an additional 10% bonus to the applied consignor account balance (in-store only.)
  • Consignors may request payout or pickup available balances at any time during store hours.
